The Assumption College women’s field hockey team suited up against St. Anselm Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium at 7:00pm. The Greyhounds are currently on fire, riding a three-game winning streak prior to this game. However, there was a bit more incentive for the Hounds to win this game. Not only would a win for the hounds make it a four game winning streak, but it would also make the team number one in the NE-10 conference.
The Hounds previously lost to St. Anselm earlier in the season, so Tuesdays night game they were ready for revenge. The Hounds put a number on the board 18 minutes into the first half. The goal was scored by #16 Amanda Frank with an assist from #8 Alison Juneau, giving the Hounds a 1-0 lead.

St. Anselm showed a lot of hustle in the first half, but the Hounds defense was impeccable and many great saves were made by the goalie #33 Bridget Boyle.
In the second half, both teams fought hard to put points on the board. St. Anselm had a great opportunity with approximately six minutes left in the game, with a penalty corner shot. Unfortunately for St. Anselm, goalie Bridget Boyle for the Hounds was able to stop the shot. With a total of eight stops throughout the game by Boyle, the Hounds defeated St. Anselm in a 1-0 win.
This game marked the fourth straight win for the Hounds overall and the third straight win against a nationally-ranked team. The team is now in the number one seed for their conference with a 4-0 lead. The Hounds travel to Springfield, MA this Thursday October, 1st to play in a non-conference game against American International, with hopes to keep their winning streak alive.
